Hospice care is received wherever the patient is living. Hospice care can take place in a patient’s home, a nursing home, assisted living facility, independent living facility, hospital, group home, or the Angela Hospice Care Center in Livonia, Michigan.

At any time during a life-limiting illness it is appropriate to consider all of a patient’s care options, including hospice. By law the decision belongs to the patient. Hospice care is premium quality comfort care specifically for patients with a terminal illness.

VNA of Southeast Michigan is a full-service Medicare / Medicaid certified home health care and hospice organization accredited by the Joint Commission. Under the direction of your physician, VNA's skilled staff works closely with you and your family to provide the care and education necessary for the patient’s optimum health. 

The amount and type of service are determined individually for each patient by his or her physician. All services are supervised and coordinated by a registered nurse, or depending on the diagnosis, a physical or an occupational therapist. Depending on need, services may include:

• Skilled nursing Infusion therapy

• Home health aid

• Nutrition counseling

• Physical and occupational therapy

• Speech/language pathology

• Medical social work
